Address
The Poplar Plantation is located in the triangle formed by H6 Childs Way, V10 Brickhill Street and the River Ouzel. It is across the H6 from Willen Lake. Nearest postcode: MK15 0DS.

Don’t miss
The Poplar Plantation is well worth checking out in spring, or autumn – children love running through the carpet of leaves that cover the ground towards the end of the year.

You may also see Willen Lake’s famous model steam train as it dips into the poplar plantation from the H6 flood arch.

This is a great location to build into a walk, run or cycle; you can carry on to Willen or access all of the Ouzel Valley from the Poplar Plantation and it is well signposted. It is also a good place for dog walking.

Be careful when the weather is windy as branches can fall off onto the ground below.

Car parking
There is a dedicated car park off Woodall Close in Middleton. Nearest postcode: MK10 9JZ. You can walk from here into the Plantation.

Toilets
There are no public toilets in the park.

Disabled access
Good if accessed from the car park; the leisure routes are hard surfaces.

    Ouzel Valley Park - park.jpg

The Ouzel Valley Park meanders from Caldecotte Lake in the south to Willen Lake in the north. The park has a spacious, open atmosphere with long views. Much of the land is farmed by The Parks Trust rearing our own cattle and sheep, between the livestock you can still see the remnants of an old field system with the ridge and furrow still visible. Incorporating the historic villages of Woolstone and Woughton, the park is bordered on its western side by the Grand Union Canal.

    Refreshments
There is the Ye Olde Swan pub at Woughton on the Green and a further two pubs - the Barge and the Cross Keys – that are located on Newport Road in Woolstone village.
