Paddle Start Award (Paddleboarding)
Take your next step after a Discover Paddleboarding session and gain a Paddle Start Award in Paddleboarding.
The Paddle Start Award is a one day course (run over a three-hour session) with one of our qualified instructors.
The course covers the following content:
- Launching and recovering your paddleboard aided and unaided
- Forward paddling whilst lying, kneeling and standing
- Balancing the board whilst kneeling and standing
- Turning and controlling the board in different conditions
- Self recovery
- Journey Planning
Upon successful completion you will receive a Paddle Start Award issued by British Canoeing. This is required for supervised sessions and clubs including our Junior Paddlesports Club.
The course costs £60 and participants must be aged 8+.
