Willen Lake South
Willen Lake South is Milton Keynes’ most popular park. It offers a wide range of activities on and off the water with something for everyone to enjoy, including Treetop Extreme, the county’s only urban high ropes course, outdoor splash park Splash ‘n’ Play, and watersports such as wakeboarding, canoeing and stand up paddleboarding. It’s a great place to entertain family and friends of all ages, whether it’s a visit to the café or restaurant, a stroll, trying a watersports course or hiring a pedalo.
What to see and do
There is lots to do at Willen Lake, making it the perfect destination for a family day out. Alongside the paid activities such as Splash ‘n’ Play, Treetop Extreme and watersports, there is plenty to enjoy for free. Willen Lake offers a fantastic play area that can be used by children of all ages, all year round. There are also play and trim trails located at different points around the lake.
Stop off at the dedicated platforms by the edge of the lake and feed the many ducks and wild waterfowl there; remember to bring seed mixes, tinned sweetcorn, defrosted peas or berries rather than bread as it is bad for them and they struggle to digest it.
Willen Lake is the perfect picturesque location for a run or walk – all year round. A circular route around both lakes is approx. 5km, but you can change this up to make it longer or shorter as required. Check out our guided walking routes for inspiration.
There are plenty of open areas to enjoy a picnic, play games or simply relax in the sun.

Food and drink
Whether you're looking to grab a quick drink and a bite to eat or a place to enjoy a sit down meal, there's a range of options available to satisfy your appetite. Find out about the new Benugo Bar & Kitchen which enjoys fantastic views across the lake here.
There is good access at Willen Lake, with surfaced paths around the lake and dedicated parking spaces at both the North and South car parks. A disabled toilet can be found in the Splash ‘n’ Play complex. A changing places toilets will also be available in our new watersports centre once our improvement works are complete in summer 2021.
